John Winston is a R&B/Hip Hop artist born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As a child, John grew up in a musically gifted family deeply rooted in the church. This reality exposed him to a varied selection of music spanning multiple genres. His house was filled with everything from the songs of Gospel artists like the Canton Spirituals, CeCe Winans, and Fred Hammond to popular superstars like Toto, Luther Vandross, and Celine Dion. Unaware at the time, these artists would provide Mr. Winston an informal education on the melodies and note progressions that would serve him in the future. Very early in his life it became evident that John possessed a prodigious musical gift that transcended his age, and during an inspired rendition of the National Anthem at his pre-school graduation, his abilities were on full display. His vocal and songwriting skills would continue to develop as a student at Oklahoma Christian Schools in Edmond, Oklahoma, and Mr. Winston would go on to star in numerous school musicals, church plays, and fundraising events. 

After his graduation in 2006, John’s musical exploits would take a backseat to scholastic aspirations as he enrolled at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. However, music was never too far away, and during freestyle sessions with friends, he began to cultivate the verbal acumen necessary to succeed in the rap game. After graduating with a degree in Business Management from Oklahoma State in 2010 and a brief stint in corporate America, John decided that pursuing a career in music would be more rewarding than settling for the monotony of working a 9 to 5. With a refocused dedication to the future, John Winston is looking to use his music as a vehicle to change the landscape of popular music and to leave a lasting impact on the world.
